LENASO involvement in COVID 19 activities

LENASO is supporting the efforts of the Government of Lesotho in the fight against the deadly pandemic of COVID – 19 and views community participation as critical to achieve primary health care and to promote people centered services for buy-in and sustainability of health interventions. On this notion, LENASO in its current project facilitates community sensitization sessions at community and facility level on COVID 19, Infection, Prevention and Control (IPC). LENASO further creates demand for uptake of COVID 19 vaccine by members of communities through involvement of community structures including Chiefs, Councilors and VHWs for ownership of COVID 19 services in the community.

LENASO is part of the RCCE teams at national and district level, these teams are responsible to ensure effective and efficient service delivery of COVID 19 services including, sensitization and demand creation, the national RCCE team further designs relevant IEC material on COVID 19 awareness, provides mentorship and supervision on Covid19 interventions as well as providing updates on the National progress on COVID 19 issues. At district level, RCCE teams are responsible for facility and community COVID 19 interventions including trainings for health facilities and communities on COVID 19, demand creation and administration of COVID 19 vaccines as well as reporting all activities and data related to COVID 19. LENASO was part of the COVID 19 message developing partners. As part of its contribution, LENASO conducted sessions on COVID 19 prevention and infection control for Roads Directorate staff, communities and labourers.
